Tuscany villas with a private pool, from hill to sea
A private pool changes the shape of a Tuscan day. Mornings go to a hill town or the market, the hottest hours to the water and the shade of an umbrella pine, and the evening to a terrace as the light turns gold. With nobody else around, the swim before breakfast and the one by moonlight become the parts of the holiday people talk about afterwards.
Each of the 224 villas below has a pool of its own, and some of the finest look at the sea. On a cliff of Monte Argentario an 18 m infinity pool with a jacuzzi corner hangs above the water; a cliffside villa in Castiglioncello has a circular seawater pool and a private path to the rocks; and above Porto Ercole a saltwater pool sits on a terrace facing the Tyrrhenian.

Villa pools usually open in May and close in October. The water is most comfortable from June to September, often without heating.
Some coastal villas fill their pools with seawater or use saltwater systems, which many swimmers find softer on skin and eyes.
A pool that catches afternoon sun stays warmer in May and October; one shaded by pines is welcome in August. Ask us which way each faces.

Questions before you choose
Is the pool heated?
Some are, most are not, and heating is often charged separately. From June to September an unheated pool is usually comfortable. We confirm heating and any supplement with the owner in our reply.
Is the pool private?
Yes. Every villa on this page has its own pool, used only by your party. Dimensions and depth appear in each listing where the owner has provided them.
What is the minimum stay?
In high season most villas rent Saturday to Saturday for a week or more. In May, June, September and October owners are often more flexible on arrival days and length of stay.
