Positano, facing the sea

Sea view villas in Positano

Almost everything in Positano faces the sea, but the view changes greatly from one house to the next. From low in the town you look across the beach and fishing boats; from higher up you see the Amalfi Coast unfold to the east, and offshore the Li Galli islets, long said to be the home of the Sirens.

The 28 villas below were chosen for the view. A south facing apartment for two looks over the main beach and Li Galli, sunlit all day; 128 m² of terraces take in the coast as far as the islands; a room inside a 13th century watchtower has the bay directly beneath its 50 m² terrace. Larger houses add pools that overlook the water.

Higher means wider

Villas high on the hillside see the full sweep of the coast; those near the beach feel closer to the life of the town. Both have their admirers.

Open sea to the south

Positano faces south, so its views look over open water. For evening colour, ask whether a terrace looks west towards Li Galli.

Night is part of the view

After dark the town lights up tier by tier down to the beach. A terrace for dinner may matter more than a pool.

Questions before you choose

Do all these villas have a sea view?

Yes, every villa on this page looks towards the sea, though from different heights and angles. Ask us which bedrooms face the water and we will check with the owner.

Are sea view villas in Positano far from the beach?

Some are close, others high on the hill. A few have private lifts or stairs to the water; others rely on the town's stairways or the local bus. We tell you which before you book.

When are the views clearest?

Spring and autumn often bring the clearest air, when Capri and the Li Galli islands stand out sharply. Summer haze can soften the distance on hot days.
