Puglia villas with a view of the sea
On the Adriatic side of Puglia the sun rises out of the sea, and a villa with a view gives you that moment every morning. The coast is a sequence of low limestone cliffs, coves and old watchtowers, and from a terrace the water shifts from pale green close in to deep blue further out. In the far south, at Santa Maria di Leuca, the Adriatic meets the Ionian.
The 21 villas below all look out to the sea. There is a clifftop villa near Castro with a sea view pool and a private path down to the rocks, a contemporary seafront villa near Monopoli with direct access to the beach, and a 19th century fortified masseria near Fasano whose Tower Suite looks out to the Adriatic.

East facing terraces catch the sunrise over the water; for sunsets over the sea, look to the Ionian coast around Gallipoli.
Much of the Adriatic shore is rocky, with ladders and platforms into deep, clear water; swim shoes are worth packing.
Watchtowers built against pirate raids still line the Salento coast, marking fine walks along the cliffs between Otranto and Leuca.

Questions before you choose
Is a sea view villa also on the beach?
Not always. Some are seafront with direct access; others sit on a hill or cliff with the sea a short drive or a path away. Each listing states the distance, and we can confirm.
Which coast has the better sunsets?
The Ionian coast faces west and has the sunsets; the Adriatic coast faces east and has the sunrises. Choose accordingly if evenings on the terrace matter most to you.
When is the sea warm enough for swimming?
From June to early October the water is comfortable, and September is often the warmest month. Pools are usually open from May to October, and summer villas rent Saturday to Saturday.
