The villa
A contemporary house by an award winning architect, tucked behind the Church of San Rocco on the edge of the historic centre of Gagliano del Capo. Austere white volumes, built in furniture and interconnected patios let light, shadow and planting animate every room.
Inside
Five double bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, plus a guest bathroom. Three are on the ground floor, including the master; two more rise one above the other in the tower, with glimpses of the sea. A living room and a large kitchen with dining area and fireplace open through sliding glass walls onto the patios.
Outside
An 8 by 2.75 m pool in the main courtyard, framed by Mediterranean planting, an orangery garden and a secret garden. A bamboo clad canopy links the buildings. Outdoor dining with barbecue, and two terraces: one above the living room, one at the top of the tower.
Location
On the footpath that runs from the village down to the sea: the Ciolo inlet is a 10 minute walk on a steep path. Santa Maria di Leuca is 7 km, Tricase 12 km and Otranto 51 km. Brindisi Airport is 116 km.
