Family villas in Puglia, from sea to olive grove
Puglia is kind to children. Many beaches on the Ionian side shelve gently into warm, calm water; the trulli of Alberobello look like a village from a picture book; and dinner starts late enough that nobody is rushed. Grandparents find the pace equally agreeable, with shaded terraces, a pool in view and towns small enough to walk slowly.
Each of the 65 villas below has at least three bedrooms and a pool, beach or family equipment. You will see a seafront villa near Monopoli with direct access to the beach, two contemporary villas near Marina di Pulsano with two pools and a tennis court, and a whitewashed masseria near Gallipoli with two trulli in the garden.

Beaches between Porto Cesareo and Gallipoli have fine sand and gradual shallows, easier for small swimmers than the rocky Adriatic coves.
The trulli of Alberobello and the vast caves at Castellana Grotte make two family outings that work even on a rare cloudy day.
Italian families eat late in summer; a rest after lunch keeps children fresh for the evening stroll and an ice cream in the piazza.

Questions before you choose
Can the villa provide cots and high chairs?
Many owners can, and some villas already list family equipment. Tell us what you need when you enquire and we confirm with the owner before you book, along with pool fencing if that matters to you.
Is Puglia far to drive with children?
Distances are manageable. From Bari airport, villas around Monopoli and Fasano are under an hour away; from Brindisi, Lecce is about 40 minutes. The southern tip of Salento takes longer, around two hours.
What is the minimum stay for families?
In high season villas usually rent Saturday to Saturday for a week or more; outside July and August, shorter stays are often possible. Pools normally open in May and close in October.
