Family villas on the Amalfi Coast
Children take to the Amalfi Coast through its water: boats in every harbour, rocks to jump from, grottoes to swim into. The villages are small enough to explore on foot, and the eastern end of the coast, around Maiori and Minori, has the longest sandy beaches, which younger children usually prefer to pebbles.
The 55 villas below have three bedrooms or more, and most add a pool or a way to the sea. A 16th century Saracen tower at Vietri sul Mare has a lemon garden and a private path to the beach; a seafront house at Conca dei Marini steps straight into the sea; in Castiglione di Ravello, a 19th century house with eight bedrooms has a heated swim spa.

Maiori has the longest beach on the coast, with sand rather than pebbles and a long promenade for evening walks.
Near Conca dei Marini, boats take visitors into a sea cave lit green by sunlight entering underwater. Children rarely forget it.
A day at Pompeii or Herculaneum is easy from the coast, best begun early before the heat. A guide keeps children engaged.

Questions before you choose
Which part of the coast is best for young families?
The east, from Minori to Vietri, is gentler, with more sandy beaches and flatter seafronts. The west, around Positano and Praiano, is steeper and suits older children who enjoy steps and boats.
Are cots and high chairs available?
Many owners can provide them on request. List what you need in your enquiry and we will confirm it with each owner alongside availability and price.
When are villa pools open?
Pools generally open from May to October. Heating is available at some villas, sometimes at extra cost, which helps younger swimmers in May or October.
