Family villas in Sorrento and on the peninsula
Sorrento is one of the gentlest places on this coast for a family holiday. Arrival is simple, the town is lively without being hectic, and the countryside of the peninsula offers space that the steeper Amalfi side rarely can. Children can spend mornings in the pool and afternoons on a boat, while parents enjoy a quiet dinner looking towards Vesuvius.
Among the villas below, an estate in Massa Lubrense built in 1769 has two pools and orange groves between the square and the harbour. Above Sant'Agata, a large house offers a 22 m pool and a tennis court. Near Marina del Cantone, a private funicular carries everyone from the garden terraces down to a small pebble beach, and above Termini a guest house and studio give older children or grandparents a space of their own.

The fast ferry from Sorrento is short, and a boat trip around the island, past its grottoes and rocks, delights most children.
The Circumvesuviana train stops at Pompeii on the way to Naples, so older children can walk the Roman streets in a morning.
Potato gnocchi baked with tomato and mozzarella are the town's own dish, and few children refuse them. Ask your cook, or order them in town.

Questions before you choose
Is Sorrento suitable for toddlers?
Yes, with the right house. Look for a villa with a fenced pool and few steps, and remember that beaches are mostly small and pebbly. We check these details for each villa you shortlist.
Do we need a car?
In Sorrento town you can walk. On the wider peninsula a car or driver is useful for beaches and shopping, though roads are narrow and parking is limited in summer.
What is the minimum stay for families?
In high season, generally one week, Saturday to Saturday, and villa pools are open from about May to October. One enquiry covers up to five villas, and you hear from us within one working day.
