The villa
A historic villa on the cliffs of Sorrento, with origins dating back to Roman times, bought by William Waldorf Astor in 1905. Its interiors, by Jacques Garcia, set Greek and Roman statues, marble columns and archaeological pieces among antiques, like a private museum.
Inside
Five floors, served by a lift: an entrance hall, two living rooms and a library; below, a dining room, a kitchen with black and white tiles and a music room with a grand piano; a wellness level with gym and massage room. Six doubles, all en suite: a master with fireplaces, dressing room and black marble tub, and five further doubles.
Outside
Two hectares of botanical garden hold Roman artefacts, an 8 m by 3.5 m pool and dining under an ancient wisteria pergola. A natural grotto with an inner pool leads directly to the sea. There is a sea facing terrace, a glass covered patio for barbecues and a rooftop terrace.

About 2 km from the centre of Sorrento. Massa Lubrense is 7 km away, Positano 16 km and Pompeii 30 km. Naples airport is 54 km.
