Few places in Italy keep Holy Week as Sorrento does. On the nights before Easter, processions of hooded confraternities move slowly through the old streets, some robed in white and some in black, with music and candlelight, a tradition centuries old. By Easter Sunday the mood turns to family tables, with pastiera, casatiello and the first spring vegetables.

Is Sorrento busy at Easter?
Yes, it is one of the busier moments of spring, with Italian families and foreign visitors arriving for the long weekend. Villas outside the town stay peaceful, and early enquiries have more choice.
