The villa
A historic estate on a promontory at the foot of Ravello: a 10th or 11th century Saracen watchtower that became a monastery in the 14th century. Seven bedrooms are spread across four buildings among five acres of citrus orchards and gardens.
Inside
The main house has an Italian salotto, a grand dining room, a library and a bar with a grand piano, with original art and antiques. Seven doubles, all en suite: one in the old tower with its own terrace, two in the lemon house, three in the former monastery, where the master has frescoed vaults and a marble bath, and one private suite.
Outside
Nine terraces look over sea, mountains and villages. The heated pool, 4 by 7.8 m and up to 4.5 m deep, has loungers, hammocks and a lifeguard by day. Long tables under the lemon trees, a wood fired pizza oven, barbecue and outdoor bar, plus a gym and greenhouse.
Location
On the hillside between Ravello and Amalfi: the centre of Atrani is a 10 minute walk (600 m), Amalfi about 20 minutes on foot and Ravello 2 km by footpath. Gated parking for two cars. Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport is 44 km, Naples Capodichino Airport 62 km.
