The villa
A 19th century palazzo on the edge of Manduria, built in 1881 to celebrate an aristocratic wedding. Frescoed ceilings, neoclassical ornament and family antiques meet contemporary design, with silks and velvets giving each suite its own character.
Inside
Eight suites of 25 to 35 m², each with its own bathroom, three with beds that divide into twins. Highlights include a first floor suite with pastoral frescoes and a vaulted lounge with antique bas reliefs, a sculptural bathtub set in the centre of a room, and a suite with private terrace. Two guest bathrooms, frescoed salons and a frescoed dining hall.
Outside
Romantic English gardens of roses and jasmine, with oaks dating to 1880, grottoes, lawns and a small oak wood. The 80 m² saltwater pool has a Jacuzzi corner reached by a little footbridge. Breakfast is served in the loggia, on the terrace or in the frescoed hall.
Location
About 450 m on foot from the historic centre of Manduria, homeland of Primitivo, with wineries close by. Porto Cesareo is 29 km, Lecce 49 km and Ostuni 42 km. Taranto Grottaglie Airport is 34 km, Brindisi Airport 49 km.
