The villa
A fortified settlement grown around its tower, with a curtain wall enclosing a landscaped courtyard. Stables and stone feeding troughs survive in the entrance hall. It is now a working lavender and olive oil farm, with beehives and a large organic vegetable garden.
Inside
Eleven bedrooms with antiques, designer beds and contemporary art. The castle has eight en suite rooms over four floors, including a ground floor suite with an antechamber and a first floor king suite with a Giallo di Siena marble shower; two rooms can be twins. The farmhouse annex has a family room with two double beds, a king or twin and a double, sharing two bathrooms.
Outside
A heated pool with a separate shallow area for children, overlooking medieval terraces and oak forest. A furnished terrace, a courtyard and a shaded pergola for dining. Woodland trails start at the gate; deer, hoopoes, owls and fireflies share the grounds.

Secluded, 400 m from the road and 2 km from the village of Sovicille. Siena is 15 km, Monteriggioni 22 km, San Gimignano 44 km. Florence Airport is 90 km. The River Merse, for walks and wild swimming, is a short drive.
