The villa
A 16th century country house in Castagneto Carducci, on a small hill near Donoratico on the Etruscan Coast, close to the Bolgheri wine area. Restored for comfort while keeping its fireplaces and period character.
Inside
The ground floor has an entrance hall, a dining room for 24 and a library, each with a fireplace, a drawing room, a kitchen with breakfast area and fireplace, and a double with shower room. Upstairs, three doubles with en suites and a twin. In the tower, a children's room for three with shower. Two staff rooms with bathroom.
Outside
A 14.7 x 6.7 m pool at the end of the garden, with a hut, loungers, umbrellas and a lunch table. Views over the countryside to the sea, and parking for 15 cars. Guests have a fenced private beach with a bathing hut, shower and changing cabins.
Location
On a hill above Donoratico, about 3 km away, with its station and shops; the sea is about ten minutes by car. Cecina is about 20 km; Piombino, for the Elba ferry, is 20 minutes. Pisa airport is one hour.
