Bibbiano
An 800 year old village on the Via Francigena, restored as one private estate of five houses around its own piazza.
The villa
A medieval farming village near Montalcino, a resting place for Via Francigena pilgrims. Restoration left intact a wood burning oven over 500 years old, a brick staircase worn by centuries of feet, a Borghese crest by the dining room door.
Inside
Twenty two en suite bedrooms, twelve of them suites, across a manor house and four village houses. The manor has a master suite with sauna, steam shower and loggia, formal and family dining rooms, a professional teaching kitchen, a library, a living room with piano, a media room, a bar, a cantina with tasting room and a ballroom for 50.
Outside
A 10 x 20 m pool, heated on request, a spa with Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath and cold plunge, and a gym. Tennis, basketball and bocce courts, an arcaded courtyard, lawns with a gazebo and outdoor dining terraces. Each village house has its own patio.
Location
On a rural hillside 1.4 km from the hamlet of Bibbiano, about thirty minutes south of Siena and close to Montalcino. Castiglion del Bosco Golf Club, 5 km away, is open to guests.
