The villa
A historic estate outside Lucca, shaped by noble dynasties since the Middle Ages and later a retreat for Dalí, Cocteau, Jacqueline Kennedy and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Original frescoes meet interiors designed by Patricia Urquiola, with a private chapel on the grounds.
Inside
1,500 square metres over four floors: living and dining rooms, libraries, a wine cellar, bar, pool room and games room, a professional kitchen and a guest kitchen. Eleven king size suites, many with living rooms, marble bathrooms and antique baths; two are duplexes. A private chef, butler and daily housekeeping are included.
Outside
The baroque Lemon Garden, the Spanish Garden, a Nymphaeum, the Clock House and a Water Theatre, with fountains throughout and a main garden running down to the lake. A 15.6 x 5 m pool with paved deck, a private garden café and outdoor showers.
Location
In the hills just north of Lucca, about 1 km from the centre of Marlia and 8 km from Lucca. Pisa airport is 43 km away, Forte dei Marmi 44 km and Florence 79 km.
