The villa
A restored house on a hill behind a private gate, with views of wooded hills in every direction. Artisan interiors in pastel tones keep antique furniture, exposed beams, terracotta floors and a 16th century fireplace.

Ground floor: a kitchen with pantry, a dining room for ten, a guest bathroom and a double with fireplace. First floor: a library of Italian history and travel books, an artist's studio with fireplace opening onto the lawn, the master with fireplace and a king double. Two more king doubles above, one convertible to twins. All five en suite; a gym.
Outside
A 16 x 5 m mosaic tiled pool set in lawn, with loungers and a view that reaches Pisa's tower on clear days. Off the kitchen, a dining area under a pergola, an outdoor lounge and a pizza oven.

On a hill 3 km from the centre of San Macario in Piano, reached by a quiet country road. Pisa airport is 28 km away, Lucca 11 km, Viareggio 22 km and Pisa 23 km.
