Family villas on Lake Como, with room to play
Children tend to love Lake Como for simple reasons: boats, stones to skim, ice cream on the promenade and ferries that make every outing feel like an expedition. Distances are short, the villages are safe to wander, and in summer the water is warm enough for afternoons of swimming and paddling.
The 40 villas below all have at least three bedrooms and a pool, beach or equipment for families. At Lezzeno, a house on the shore has a pool and garden gates onto a pebble beach. At Onno, a contemporary house adds a heated pool and hydromassage among olive trees, and at Pianello del Lario a walkway in front of the gate leads down to a small pebble beach of its own.
At a glance
- 40 private villas
- From 4 to 17 bedrooms
- Up to 33 guests in one villa
- 39 with a private pool
- 14 with a cook or staff
- Availability and price on request, reply within one working day
Crossing the lake by public boat is an adventure for children and the easiest way to move between villages without a car.
Lake beaches are pebbly rather than sandy, so soft soled water shoes make swimming and rock pooling far more comfortable.
Cable cars and easy trails above the lake offer cooler air, meadows and wide views when the shore feels warm.

Questions before you choose
Are villas with lake access safe for young children?
Lake access usually means steps, a dock or a beach, and the water deepens quickly. Tell us your children's ages and we will ask each owner about pool fencing, gates and access to the water.
Can the villa provide cots and high chairs?
Many family villas can, but equipment varies by owner. List what you need in your enquiry and we will confirm it for each villa before you decide.
How long do families usually stay?
A week is typical, and in high season most villas let Saturday to Saturday. You can ask about up to five villas at once; we reply within one working day.
