Wedding villas on Lake Como
Lake Como has drawn wedding parties for generations, and it is easy to see why. Guests can arrive by boat, the ceremony can take place in a garden above the water, and dinner can run late on a terrace facing the mountains. May, June and September offer the kindest weather and the softest evening light.
Only villas that accept events appear among the 21 below. They include two 18th century lakefront villas in a seven acre park at Blevio, looking across to Cernobbio and Laglio; a historic residence at Tremezzina with stuccoed halls, a private art collection and a heated pool; and a 16th century palace at Torno beside a waterfall, reached by boat, helicopter or car. Every owner sets rules on guest numbers, music and curfews, and we check them with you before anything is agreed.

A lakefront villa lets guests arrive by private boat from Como or the central villages, which makes the start of the day part of the celebration.
Late spring and early autumn avoid the height of summer heat, and villa gardens are at their fullest in May and June.

Questions before you choose
Can we legally marry at the villa?
A civil ceremony with legal effect usually takes place at a town hall or an authorised venue. Many couples complete that formally and then hold a symbolic ceremony and celebration at the villa.
How many guests can a villa host?
It depends entirely on the owner and the property. Some allow a large reception in the gardens, others only an intimate dinner. We check the limit, music and curfew for each villa you shortlist.
