A late 16th century palazzo built for Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio on the shore at Ossuccio, its salons painted with 17th century frescoes.
The villa
A lakefront palazzo on the western shore of Lake Como, enlarged over the centuries and set in more than two hectares of gardens. Frescoes by the Recchi brothers and Agostino Silva, antiques from the great auction houses, and suites designed by Jacques Garcia.
Inside
Six suites with marble bathrooms: the master and a guest suite on the first floor beside the central salon, a study and a lake view gallery; four more on the second floor. Below, three frescoed salons, a formal dining room, a library of rare volumes and an indoor pool. Four further bedrooms in the west wing and a four bedroom annex on request.
Outside
A 16 by 8 m pool in its own garden, heated for week long stays. A covered terrace with fireplace beside the kitchen for dining in any season, a barbecue, a private pier and boathouse on the lake, and a helicopter pad.
Location
On the lake 900 m from Ossuccio, a ten minute walk, and below the Sacro Monte, a UNESCO site. Lenno 1 km, Tremezzo 4 km, Bellagio 9 km. Milan Malpensa airport 71 km, Milan Linate airport 91 km.
