Family villas on the Maremma and Argentario coast
Families return to this coast year after year for simple reasons. The beaches are long and sandy, the water shelves gently in many places, and the umbrella pines behind the dunes give natural shade at midday. Inland there are horses, farm shops and the wide open country of the Maremma, where cattle are still herded by mounted cowboys.
The villas below have room to spread out. A 19th century hilltop farmhouse near Bolgheri sits on 35 hectares with a clay tennis court. A villa in Castiglioncello stands in a walled garden of nearly 40 palm trees, 300 m from the main square, so older children can walk into town. A 16th century country house above Donoratico has a tower bedroom and a private beach hut by the sea.

Marina di Bibbona, Donoratico and the Feniglia beach near Orbetello are backed by pines: sand, shade and shallow water close together.
The Maremma Regional Park, near Alberese, has marked trails through hills and pinewood to an unspoilt beach, and can be explored on foot, by bicycle or on horseback.
The northern coast is closer to Pisa and Bolgheri; Argentario feels more like an island. Tell us your priorities and we will suggest the right stretch.

Questions before you choose
Are the pools safe for young children?
Safety features vary from house to house. Some pools are fenced, others have alarms or none at all. Give us your children's ages and we will check each villa before you commit.
Which months suit families best?
Late June and early September bring warm sea and quieter beaches. July and August are busiest, and villas then usually rent Saturday to Saturday, with pools open from May to October.
Can we enquire about several villas at once?
Yes. Add up to five villas to one request. Our team confirms availability and price with each owner and replies within one working day.
