Sicily, weddings and celebrations

Wedding villas in Sicily

A Sicilian wedding draws on everything the island does well: a long table under the stars, citrus and jasmine in the air, food that arrives course after course. Baroque churches, Greek ruins and coastal towns give photographers more than enough, and guests can fly into Catania or Palermo.

Only villas that accept events appear below. Near Augusta, an estate has its own private chapel and views from Mount Etna to the sea. At Lentini, a 300 acre orange plantation has an Orangerie for dinner. Near Trabia, a 10,000 sqm botanical garden lies 50 m from the water, and at Itala Marina frescoed ceilings sit above 10 hectares of organic citrus facing Calabria. Each owner sets rules on guest numbers, music and curfews, and we check them for you.

Orange groves as a backdrop

Eastern Sicily is citrus country. An estate among orange trees gives a celebration colour, scent and space in every season.

A chapel on the grounds

Some historic estates keep their own chapel or consecrated church, useful for a blessing or a small ceremony close to the reception.

Guests fly in easily

Catania and Palermo have direct flights from many European cities, which helps guests travelling for a long weekend.

Good to know

Questions before you choose

How many guests can a villa host?

It depends entirely on the villa. Each owner sets a limit for events, as well as rules on music and the time the party must end. We confirm these with the owner before you commit.

Can we hold a legal ceremony at the villa?

Civil ceremonies in Italy usually take place in a town hall or an authorised venue, so many couples marry there and celebrate at the villa. A planner can advise on the formalities.

How do we start?

Send your dates, approximate guest numbers and up to five villas in one request. We check each owner's event rules and availability and reply within one working day.
