Family villas on the Italian Riviera in Liguria
Liguria turns simple journeys into adventures for children. A train that pops in and out of tunnels above the sea, a ferry into a tiny harbour, a climb up to a castle on the hill: days here feel full without long drives. Focaccia makes the easiest of snacks, and a slice of farinata, the local chickpea pancake, usually wins over fussy eaters.
The villas below give families room to spread out. Above Imperia, a 12 m infinity pool seems to run into the Ligurian Sea, with San Lorenzo harbour below. Above Sanremo, a flat lawn with sea views and a pool lit until midnight has no neighbours in sight. Inland near Dolceacqua, stone farmhouses among vineyards and olive trees sit at the foot of the Maritime Alps, one with a panoramic pool.

The coastal line hugs the sea, and a short ride to the next village becomes part of the fun for younger travellers.
Ligurian beaches are often narrow and busy in summer. A villa pool gives children space to play all day.
The medieval stone bridge in Dolceacqua, painted by Monet, and the castle above it make an easy afternoon from the coast.

Questions before you choose
Are Ligurian beaches good for small children?
Beaches are mostly small, with shingle or pebbles, and many are private lidos with loungers. That is why a pool matters here; pools are usually open from May to October.
Is there a minimum stay?
In July and August most villas rent Saturday to Saturday. In June and September owners are often more flexible, and we ask for you.
How does the enquiry work?
Pick up to five villas for your dates and send them together. A member of our team checks each one with the owner and replies within one working day.
