Few Italian resorts are as easy with children as Forte dei Marmi. The beaches are wide and sandy, the sea deepens slowly, and the organised beach clubs provide lifeguards, shade and playgrounds on the sand. Traffic is light in the residential streets, so older children quickly find their independence on a bicycle.
The villas below include houses built for family summers. A two storey house among quiet villas, 700 m from the beach, has a fenced pool. At Cinquale, the only house within 1 km stands 100 m from the sand, with a 12 m pool framed by arches, and at Castiglioncello a house 30 steps above the water has private paths to both a sandy beach and a rocky cove.

Versilia's beach clubs are staffed in summer, and the shallow sandy shoreline is well suited to toddlers and first swimmers.
Lucca's walls, Pisa's Leaning Tower and the marble quarries above Carrara are all within an hour, useful for a cooler or cloudy day.
Houses range from steps to under 1 km from the sand. For young children, we can filter by walking distance and fenced gardens.

Questions before you choose
Can we bring the grandparents and a nanny?
Many houses have ground floor bedrooms or separate quarters. Tell us who is travelling and we will check layouts, stairs and sleeping arrangements with each owner.
When are the beach clubs open?
Most operate from late spring to September, fully staffed in July and August. June and September are calmer and still warm enough to swim.
How does the request process work?
Villas are booked on request. Pick up to five houses, send your dates and group size, and we reply within one working day once each owner has confirmed.
