Lucca and Pisa
Walled Lucca, the villas of the Lucca hills and the beaches of Versilia nearby.
Why choose Lucca and Pisa
Northwest Tuscany pairs two of Italy's most graceful cities. Lucca sits intact within its Renaissance walls, a city of towers, Romanesque facades and quiet piazzas, while Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli gathers cathedral, baptistery and the famous tower on a lawn of brilliant green. Around them, the Lucca hills are dotted with noble villas, gardens and small family wineries.
This corner of Tuscany is easy to reach and easy to love. Families cycle the walls of Lucca, music lovers follow Puccini from his birthplace to the opera festival at Torre del Lago, and garden enthusiasts tour historic villa parks. With the sea of Versilia and the mountains of the Garfagnana close by, every day can feel different.
