Lucca
A mid 17th century villa near Lucca, reached by a double row of cypresses and entered by a double flight stairway.
The villa
A villa built in the mid 17th century and enclosed by stone walls, a pure example of Lucca's restrained architecture: a raised noble floor, an entrance portal with a double flight stairway and rooms laid out symmetrically around a central salon.
Inside
Ground floor: dining room, kitchen, bathroom and laundry. First floor: a large central salon, an office and three double junior suites, each with en suite bathroom. Second floor: a library, a central salon with home theatre and three more double junior suites, all en suite.
Outside
A cypress avenue leads to a large park of lime trees, oaks, olives and magnolias, with aromatic shrubs and roses. The Roman style pool is framed by a pergola of bougainvillea.
Location
Close to the ancient parish church of Vorno, just outside the medieval town of Lucca.
