Ragusa
A restored early 20th century farmhouse in the Modica countryside, around a 1,500 square metre stone paved baglio.
The villa
A traditional Sicilian farmhouse from the early 20th century, restored with its thick walls intact, among centuries old olive groves and carob trees. A central villa and two dépendances gather around a 1,500 square metre baglio paved in local Modica stone.
Inside
The central villa has a modern kitchen, a dining room, a reading lounge, a mezzanine reading nook and a living room with a central fireplace and antique billiard table; three doubles are en suite, one with a Jacuzzi. The dépendances add three doubles, a single and a kitchenette.
Outside
A 19 m by 9 m pool with a gentle slope and wheelchair ramp, a sun deck and lawn. A shuttered portico holds an outdoor kitchen, wood fired oven and barbecue beside a bar. The baglio keeps an old cistern with a hand pump; a 250 square metre dance floor lies under pergolas.
Location
In the countryside 15 km from Modica, 21 km from Noto and Ispica, and 30 km from Ragusa. Comiso airport is 56 km, Catania airport 106 km.
