The villa
A grand mansion owned and lived in by a countess until the late 1970s, set on a private promontory at the gateway to the island's oldest volcano, hidden by tall trees. A golden door, antique pieces from an Assisi church and rare plants fill house and garden.
Inside
The estate is let from six bedrooms: the main house with lounge, dining area, kitchen, two doubles and a single, plus a neighbouring house with three doubles, all with private bathrooms, for 11 guests. Up to seven further bedrooms, each with its own bath, can be added in five annex units.
Outside
A stone paved pool terrace with lemon trees and palms, bougainvillea patios, a pine shaded rear terrace, a dining table for ten, roof terraces facing the Aragonese Castle and Procida, and a covered outdoor kitchen with wood grill, pizza oven and barbecue.
Location
On a promontory below Montagnone, overlooking the port of Ischia, with fumaroles still visible beneath the entrance. Terraces are reached by stone steps.
